Conceptually and strategically, the Africa Global Emergence Center approach and methods of work through a Pan- African lens and with a strong focus on positive narratives of the continent. The strong focus is rooted in the principle of amplifying African positive narrative not only as a counterbalance to the already concentrated negative narratives of the mass media but also as incentives to inspire and propel growth poles. The framework also pays great attention to and focus on addressing Africa’s growth challenges including reputational issues undermining the recent positive investment climate and inadequate technical/adaptive capacity to engender structural economic transformation. The framework translates into the following specific strategic approaches and methods namely: Positioning and Knowledge mobilization.
In practice, the precise hierarchy and mix of these strategic approaches and methods depend on the moment, the context and the particular issues to be addressed. In other words they are not mutually exclusive of each other.
