Mr. Gomez obtained his master of Arts Degree in international Affairs with a concentration in international security studies, from the University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He holds a Bachelor of Arts, with a major in Business Management and a minor in accounting from Maryville College, Tennessee.
Mr. Gomes is currently the director for international Affairs at the Rainbow/Push Coalition. He worked as a policy assistant to Reverend Jesse L. Jackson, Sr., during his tenure as United States Special Envoy for the promotion of democracy and human rights in Africa.
Mr. Gomes has travelled with Rev. Jackson throughout the globe advocating for effective HIV/AIDS policies and also promoting democracy, human rights, peace, trade, and security.
He also worked on several peace missions for Rev. Jackson across Africa, the middle East, as well as in Yugoslavia. Mr. Gomez was awarded the Crans Montana forum leadership award in October 2016.
Additionally, Mr. Gomez participated as an international election observer in several countries around the world.
